Atletico de Madrid have joined the race to sign Loic Remy from Nice and are considering making an official enquiry in the next few weeks, according to a report.
The 22-year-old forward has been dubbed the new Thierry Henry after some impressive performances both at club and international level and has attracted a lot of interest, El Mundo Deportivo state.
Following a loan spell at Lens, Remy moved to Nice in the summer from Lyon and included in his contract was a clause that gives the French champions first option to buy him back.
Newcastle United and Fiorentina are said to have had him watched, while Sevilla are also keeping tabs on the player as they have enjoyed success in uncovering gems in the French league in recent seasons.
While no fee has been mentioned, Atletico are said to be ready to spend around €10 million to secure his services in the summer and could go higher if they are pulled into a bidding race.
Remy featured for France in the Under-21 tournament in Toulon in 2007 and has since been rewarded with an appearance for the French B side last year.
Many have tipped the exciting forward to step up to the national first team before too long.
