Nantes have confirmed their interest in signing reportedly unsettled Rennes forward Sylvain Wiltord.
The former Gunners striker has struggled for first-team opportunities at Rennes this season after falling out of favour with manager Guy Lacombe.
Newly-promoted Nantes have endured a difficult beginning to their Ligue 1 campaign and it has been claimed that boss Elie Baup could turn to Wiltord as they look to climb the table.
Nantes sporting director Christian Lariepe said: "We never hide if we would hire a joker. Sylvain would be among the players we are attracted by."
However, the latest reports emanating from France suggest Wiltord, 34, is likely to snub an approach from the relegation-threatened club.
