Milan Baros' agent has suggested the striker will be staying with Lyon next season.
The Czech striker spent the second half of last term on loan at Portsmouth, but failed to score during his time with the FA Cup winners.
He had been tipped to leave Lyon over the summer, with Bolton, West Brom and Werder Bremen all linked with bids.
However, Baros' representative Pavel Paska says new Lyon coach Claude Puel wants to give him an opportunity with the French champions.
"We are not changing the strategy, " Paska told MF Dnes. "Lyon are one of Europe's top teams and Baros belongs there.
"The new coach is looking forward to working with Milan."
Lyon's director of communications Olivier Blanc, though, admits the club have yet to take a decision on whether to keep Baros.
Blanc said: "Nothing is decided yet.
"We will meet Milan in the next week and will discuss all options, including which clubs might possibly want to buy him."
