Czech Republic international in talks with several clubs

Czech Republic international Vaclav Sverkos is attracting interest from clubs in England, according to his agent. The Banik Ostrava striker scored the opening goal of Euro 2008 as he gave Czech Republic a 1-0 victory over co-hosts Switzerland. Sverkos played no further part in the tournament but it appears he has caught the eye of several sides across the continent. "Clubs from England and France have addressed us with their interest in Vaclav," agent Tomas Trucha told deniksport.cz. "With those clubs we are at the beginning of negotiations, so we cannot reveal more." Reports in Czech Republic suggest that Sverkos would favour a move to Western Europe, although a number of Russian clubs are also in the running. Sverkos was in Moscow earlier this week and held talks with representatives from four clubs. Saturn Ramenskoe are understood to be close to a deal, while FK Moscow, CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Moscow are the other three clubs in contact.
