Ghana striker looking for fresh start in France

Udinese striker Gyan Asamoah has declared his intention to join French side Rennes this summer. The Ligue 1 outfit are looking to bolster their strikeforce and have so far had a 4million Euros (£3.2million) bid for the Ghana international turned down. Udinese are holding out for 6million Euros (£4.8million), but the 22-year-old has revealed he would like a fresh challenge with Rennes after making just nine Serie A starts last season. "I did not play much last season for Udinese," said Asamoah. "Rennes are trying to take me to the French league and, to be honest, I am flattered by their interest. I would be happy to join them as soon as possible. "It will be good to move to another league, and the French league is a good competition."
