Goalkeeper considering retirement

Gregory Coupet is considering hanging up his gloves once France's Euro 2008 campaign comes to an end. Goalkeeper Coupet has already told his club Lyon that he will be moving on this summer, and will only sign for a team outside France. And in May the 35-year-old admitted he would consider his future after this summer's tournament in Austria and Switzerland. With France on the brink of elimination after drawing with Romania and being thrashed by Holland, Coupet's career could end after Tuesday's final Group C clash with Italy.

Career

Raymond Domenech's men must beat the World Cup holders and then hope that Romania fail to take all three points against the already-qualified Dutch. When asked if he might retire from the game following Euro 2008 he replied: "Honestly I don't know. I only want to think about this after the European Championships. "The only certainty for now is that I want to leave Lyon, as I announced on May 23, and that for my career to continue I'll have to move abroad. "But I'll have to think about it (retirement). Therefore it's true that, if we go out, the game against Italy could be my last."
