Double boost for co-hosts
Switzerland midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta has declared himself fit for Saturday's Euro 2008 opener against Czech Republic.
Barnetta has been struggling with an ankle problem he picked up in a collision with team-mate Gelson Fernandes, but he has returned to training with the rest of the squad.
The 23-year-old has now made himself available for Koebi Kuhn's side as they look to get their Euro 2008 campaign off to a winning start against the Czechs.
No pain
"I took part in a full training programme with the team on Wednesday and didn't feel any pain," Barnetta told reporters.
"I was still thinking a bit about the ankle when it came to tackling but that's normal and our next few training sessions should put an end to that.
"I have told the coach I am ready to play but of course the decision rests with him."
Defender Patrick Muller has also been passed fit to play in this weekend's opener.
