Borussia Dortmund have ended their interest in Le Mans defender Marko Basa after failing to agree terms with the French club.
Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc revealed on Monday that he will no longer be chasing the talented 25-year-old Serbian after Le Mans failed to budge from their 8million euros (£6.4m) asking price.
"We have stopped our interest and will get somebody else for this position," Zorc told Kicker.
"I don't see any chance for us to go through with this transfer.
"Le Mans haven't moved an inch."
Dortmund agreed personal terms with Basa several weeks ago, but are no longer prepared to risk waiting for Le Mans to finally back down on their demands.
"We must make sure that we don't miss the stage when it is too late to find alternative solutions," Zorc added.
