Parma and Palermo are battling over Le Mans striker Tulio De Melo.
The Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and Parma had been leading the chase to secure his signature.
However, Palermo announced earlier this week that they had signed De Melo.
"De Melo is ours, while sporting director Rino Foschi is thinking about any other deals," said Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini.
But Parma have since stated that De Melo signed a pre-contract with them before he agreed his deal with Palermo.
Now the two clubs are left to fight it out, although a resolution is likely given a good relationship between the two clubs.
Meanwhile, whilst one Brazilian is leaving, Le Mans have signed another in the shape of defender Antonio Geder.
The 29-year-old has arrived from Spartak Moscow on a three-and-half year contract.
Le Mans have paid £2million for Geder - who should make his debut against Bordeaux on Saturday.
