Lyon's Brazilian midfielder Fabio Santos is looking to quit the club.
The 27-year-old signed for Lyon in January last year when he moved from Cruzeiro.
He struggled to adapt to life in Ligue 1 but this season has won a regular place.
But Santos remains unsettled in France and wants to return to his homeland with former club Cruzeiro and Sao Paulo both interested in signing him.
Problems
"Nothing has been settled and to let him leave does cause trouble to us," said Lyon advisor Bernard Lacombe.
"But he has problems to sort out and he will probably leave. We are looking for someone to replace him - but it is difficult."
It is not the first time Santos has failed to settle in Europe. Earlier in his career he moved to Portugal with Nacional - but moved back after just a dozen games.
