New Rennes coach Guy Lacombe has dismissed suggestions he has a problem with striker Mickael Pagis.
Lacombe worked with Pagis during his time as Sochaux coach and admits there was a previous issue between the two.
However, having replaced Pierre Dreossi as Rennes coach, Lacombe is not expecting old wounds to be opened up.
"There is no trouble with Mickael," said Lacombe at a press conference. "He is a very good player.
"We just had a misunderstanding in the past."
Lacombe, who turned out for Rennes during his playing career, revealed he is looking forward to managing the club.
He added: "It is a pleasure for me to come back here. I played at Rennes and, seeing the present facilities, any coach would love to come and work here.
"If I am here, it is because there are some difficulties in the group."
