Toulouse defender Jeremy Mathieu is facing several weeks on the sidelines after scans revealed he requires surgery on the fractured bone in his foot.
The left-back sustained the injury during his side's defeat at Liverpool in the Champions League qualifiers last month.
It was initially thought Mathieu would only be out of action for a week, but further examinations revealed he requires surgery.
However, central defender Daniel Congre is making good progress as he continues his rehabilitation from a shoulder operation.
The 22-year-old will return to match action in a friendly and if he comes through that unscathed he will rejoin the rest of the first-team squad in training.
