Lille and Paris Saint Germain remain unbeaten in Ligue 1, but Metz are still to pick up a point.
Promoted Metz were defeated 2-1 at home by Lille after Marko Maric's late header gave the visitors victory.
Lille had been ahead on 20 minutes when Michel Bastos scored directly from a corner, but Momar N'Diaye pulled Metz level (84).
The hosts looked to be picking up their first point back in France's top-flight until substitute Maric's goal.
Lens and PSG played out a goalless draw at the Stade Felix Bollaert in the other Ligue 1 game on Sunday.
