Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has announced that the club have signed Uruguayan striker Sebastian Ribas on a free transfer.
The tall 22-year-old was the top goalscorer in the French Ligue 2 with Dijon, scoring 24 goals and achieving promotion to the top flight, as well as being the club captain.
Ribas moved to Dijon in 2008, and has since amassed a fine record of 49 goals in 106 games for his club after moving from Inter Milan.
Despite being linked to clubs such as Sporting Lisbon and Steaua Bucharest, Ribas has opted to return to Italy on what is reported to be a four-year contract.
"Ribas signed, he's already a Genoa player," Preziosi told Radiosportiva.
With Genoa still without a manager, Preziosi also shed light on the current situation, with the president admitting that both Alberto Malesani and Delio Rossi were candidates for the position.
"Malesani is one of the candidates, when he will come back I'll decide who will be the coach," Preziosi added.
"Within a week it will be done and the official coach will be announced.
"There are other coaches with whom we spoke. Delio Rossi? He's a big coach."
