Ross County manager Jim McIntyre was unhappy that referee Don Robertson disallowed a Michael Gardyne effort during his side’s 2-2 Scottish Premiership draw with St Mirren in Paisley.
County were pegged back twice and would have opened a two-goal lead before half-time had Gardyne not been deemed offside after finding the back of the net following Jackson Irvine’s pass.
Paul Quinn and Graham Carey scored for County while Adam Drury and Jeroen Tesselaar were on target for the hosts.
The Dingwall club remain bottom of the table and McIntyre said: “I thought we had the clearer-cut chances but the big moment of the match was definitely the onside goal.
"We watched it in the dressing room and it is a poor decision – a goal should have been given and that was to go 2-0 up against a team who hasn't won at home.
"It is not marginal. It is crystal clear. Michael nutmegs the keeper with aplomb so it is really disappointing. I have told the referee it is the wrong call.
"Refs make mistakes the same as managers and players but it is certainly a big moment that has gone against us and one we don't need considering the position we are in.
"In saying that, it would have been really easy to fold after losing a goal close to half-time and another straight after we scored but I was really pleased by the response.”
Saints boss Tommy Craig added: "I am disappointed with the goals we lost. I thought we were the better team.
"It was anybody's game in the last half-hour, they attacked, we attacked and both teams could have won or lost it.
"The point doesn't do a great deal for us, it is another point I suppose but I think Ross County will be a wee bit happier than we are.
"Both teams needed three points so both camps will be a wee bit disappointed."
