St Mirren are appealing Jim Goodwin's red card from Saturday's 2-0 win over Hibernian.
The St Mirren captain was dismissed - for the first time this season - by referee Kevin Clancy following a sliding challenge on Kevin Thomson.
After the game, Saints manager Danny Lennon said: "Jim's hurting. He is distraught. He's a very honest man and said there was no contact."
An SFA disciplinary panel will meet next week to consider the appeal, meaning Goodwin - who had collected 14 bookings this season prior to Saturday - will be free to play against Partick Thistle on Friday.
Both sides are involved in a five-way fight to avoid the relegation play-off slot - currently occupied by Ross County.
St Mirren are three points clear of 11th place while Thistle are two points above County with four games remaining.
