Ball relishing City opportunity

Callum Ball says it was an easy decision to join Coventry on loan, rating the Sky Blues as the best team he faced last term.

Ball, who moved to the Ricoh Arena on a season-long deal from midlands rivals Derby last week, scored the Rams' winner against Coventry at Pride Park in January and he reserved high praise for Andy Thorn's team. The 19-year-old told City's official website: "I did score against Coventry last season but I remember in the press conference after the game, I said Coventry was probably the best side I played against. "When (Derby manager) Nigel Clough told me about the interest, I just remembered last season again when I played against the club and how good Coventry were. "Straight away I thought 'I've got to go there' as this is a huge club and if I can get more playing time at a club like this, it can only be a good thing. "The football the club plays was another major factor as I will definitely be able to learn from the players here."
