Lennon fears losing defender to serious injury

St Mirren fear Marc McAusland faces a lengthy spell out of action after suffering a suspected fractured eye socket. McAusland suffered the injury during last weekend's draw with Aberdeen and the 23-year-old is set to see a specialist to find out the full extent of the problem. Buddies boss Danny Lennon admits it would be a major blow if they were to lose McAusland for a substantial period.

Fracture

"We are waiting on a scan for Marc and that is a major blow for us," Lennon told the Daily Record. "There is some fracture in his eye socket. We don't know how long Marc could be out for. We just need to wait for the results."
