Jim Goodwin has expressed his delight at committing his future to St Mirren until the summer of 2014.
The captain's deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, but he has now signed up for another two years.
Goodwin is thrilled to resolve his future, stating he is happy at the club and has a 'great' relationship with manager Danny Lennon.
"I'm delighted to get it done and all put to bed as it has been ongoing for a couple of weeks," Goodwin told the club's official website.
"I'm really happy here at St Mirren, I have a great relationship with the manager, staff and players who are a great bunch of boys.
"I believe that there is a lot of unfinished business to be done here and I want to be a part of the future success of St Mirren."
