Skysports.com understands Oldham are set to tie up a move for Millwall striker Jason Price.
The Latics are in desperate need of firepower having scored just 20 goals in 25 league games this season.
Oldham boss Dave Penney is well aware of Price's capabilities having worked with the player during their time together at Doncaster.
Price has spent the majority of this season on Millwall's bench and is thought to be open to a switch to the North West.
Penney is also expected to step up his efforts to land Doncaster's Paul Heffernan, who enjoyed a loan stint at Boundary Park earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, Jim Goodwin has agreed to extend his loan spell from Huddersfield until the end of the season.
The midfielder has enjoyed the regular football on offer in the North West, albeit primarily at right-back, after struggling for playing time at Huddersfield.
