Burnley new boy ready to give all to club

Steven Thompson has spoken of his delight at completing his move to Burnley. Thompson joined Owen Coyle's side from Cardiff City on a free transfer on the final day of the transfer window. The 29-year-old, who has penned a two-year deal at Burnley, is now focused on ensuring the club climb up the Championship table after a shaky start to the new term. Thompson said in This is Lancashire: "I feel great. It's the last day and I am glad to have got my move eventually. "I am delighted to be here at Burnley and linking up with Owen Coyle, because he was a big reason for me joining the club. "I am very hungry to prove myself and I think the Burnley fans can expect 100 per cent effort and hopefully, as I turn 30 next month, a player with a lot of experience who wants to bring that to the team." Coyle added: "I am delighted. Steven is a player we've been tracking for some time and it was very attractive given that there was no fee involved."
