Stephen Pearson is attracting the interest of a few Premier League clubs after turning down a loan move to Birmingham.
The Scottish international looked set for a move to St Andrews after Birmingham agreed a deal with Derby to sign the midfielder.
However, the move hit a hitch after Pearson's medical showed a minor groin problem and Birmingham tried to change the deal to a loan.
However, after thinking over the loan offer, Pearson has decided to snub the opportunity to move to St Andrews on a tempoary basis.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to Pearson's availability with Derby willing to let the former Celtic man move on.
Pearson's agent Willie McKay admitted the 25-year-old was disappointed to see the move to Birmingham fall through and that he was now considering his options.
"Stephen has turned down the chance to move to Birmingham on loan," McKay told
skysports.com.
"He would have been happy to go if it was a permanent transfer, but he just thinks a loan move is not right at this moment.
Groin problem
"Everything was agreed for a permanent transfer until a small problem with his groin showed up on his medical and Birmingham decided they would prefer a loan deal.
"Stephen would have liked to have linked up again with Alex McLeish, but the loan did not suit.
"Stephen will be back fit in a couple of weeks and he hopes to find himself a new club.
"There are a couple of Premier League clubs watching his situation."
