Inverness Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher has urged his players to seize their moment this weekend as they look to reach the League Cup final.

Butcher's men, who have risen to second in the SPL table on the back of a fine run of form, take on Hearts at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon in their semi-final.

The club have not reached a major final since they were formed out of the merger of Highland League clubs Inverness Thistle and Inverness Caledonian in 1994, and their manager believes they will never have a better chance.

"We're all very excited," Butcher said. "It's another SPL team on an SPL ground and we all know what is at stake.

"It's been a long wait for this game but now that it is here, it is mouth-watering. We can't wait. We've been to a few semi-finals with Motherwell but never before with Caley Thistle.

"We are creating history right now but we want to create even more by getting to our first ever final.

"Winning the First Division a few years ago was an incredible achievement but, without a doubt, getting the team in to the League Cup final would be the biggest achievement of my time here.

"The promotion season was massive and we have created a lot of firsts here. Now we want to continue doing that."
