Inverness manager Terry Butcher praised his side after they made history by reaching the semi-finals of the Scottish Communities League Cup.

The Highlanders were convincing 3-0 victors over Rangers at Ibrox, where goals from brothers Andrew and Graeme Shinnie sandwiched an effort from Garry Warren.

"I'm absolutely thrilled," said former Rangers player Butcher. "We talked about what it would be like to come here and play, a lot of the boys hadn't been here before.

"It's a fantastic place to play football, very intimidating, but I thought they handled the occasion very well.

"They played some lovely stuff and we always believe we can score. The shape of the team was excellent and everybody worked hard.

"It was an excellent performance and I'm very pleased."
