Keogh impresses at right-back to give Abbott food for thought

Carlisle United defender David Raven could give manager Greg Abbott a selection dilemma for the weekend's game against Charlton Athletic. Raven is back in training following a hip injury and the right-back could return from a two-week lay-off against promotion-chasing Charlton. Cumbrians boss Abbott told the club's official website: "I am very encouraged by the way he trained today. He got through it with no problems, but the key now is to see how it settles down. "We need to see if there is any reaction tomorrow but, at the moment, he is looking really, really good." Raven's return to action could lead to a tough decision for Abbott after he moved Richard Keogh from the centre of defence to full-back in the win over Southend after abandoning the experiment of playing Ian Harte on the right of the back four. Harte reverted to the middle of the defence and also put in a solid display which was his best for weeks, according to the manager. "I asked them to have a go in those positions to give us that balance," Abbott told the News and Star. "Richard was very, very good. I might keep him there. It looked like a decent scenario for us. His display set an example to every player at Brunton Park."
