Gavin Gunning has left Dundee United and is one of five first-team players who will not be returning to Tannadice next season.
The 23-year-old Irish defender has been linked with a move to England with Sheffield Wednesday the favourites to capture his signature.
Also on the way out are midfielders Mark Millar and Morgaro Gomis, along with striker Dale Hilson and loan signing Farid El Alagui.
Millar has been released from his contract, while Gomis and Hilson have left the club after their deals ran out.
El Alagui's registration returns to Brentford where his contract has also run out.
United also announced that youth-team players Ross Gilmore, Jordan Allan, Mark Russell, Phil Anderson and Luke Johnston have all been released.
However, professional terms have been accepted by Harry Souttar, Jamie Robson, Matthew Smith, Greig McNaughton, Ryan Booth, Scott Allardyce, Ali Coote and Rafa Malaga.
