Dundee United suffered a 4-1 defeat in their opening pre-season friendly of the summer against Union Berlin.

Jackie McNamara's team fell behind to Adam Nemec's 29th-minute opener and the Slovakian striker doubled his tally seven minutes before the break at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

Steven Skzybski made it 3-0 on the hour and, two minutes before Brian Graham pulled one back for the Terrors, Simon Terodde added a fourth for the second-tier German outfit on 70.
