Full-back offered Bristol City opportunity

Mark Wilson has been offered an opportunity to impress by Bristol City, with the full-back having linked up with the Robins following his release by Celtic. The 28-year-old has seen a six-year stint at Parkhead come to an end, and is now searching for a new club. The Scotland international has jetted out to Marbella to form part of City's pre-season plans and is hoping to figure in the Robins' upcoming friendlies. Wilson knows City boss Dererk McInnes from his playing days at Dundee United and is looking forward to staking a claim for a contract at the Championship club. "The lack of movement on the transfer front has been frustrating since leaving Celtic," Wilson told the Daily Record. "But I've known Derek since we played for Dundee United together and it was a no-brainer to join his team in Spain. "Things have gone well so far and I hope to get a game in these friendlies."
