Dundee United boss Peter Houston insists the club do not need to sell a player this summer as he again targets a top-four finish.
Jon Daly, Gavin Gunning, Gary Mackay-Steven and Johnny Russell have been linked with a move away from Tannadice this summer.
But with the club's overall debt down and the wage bill also reduced, the United boss says the club are under no pressure to sell.
However, he admits their hands could be forced if an 'exceptional offer' comes in, similar to the £2.5million they received from Blackburn last August for David Goodwillie.
Difficult summer
Houston, who admitted it was a difficult summer last year with players leaving, told the
Daily Record: "We finished fourth this season, that's three years in a row we've made the top four.
"The fans will expect that again next term. Anything less will always not be good enough from now on. But look at the budget cuts, the debt reduction.
"We don't need to sell a player this year. It would need to be an exceptional offer that comes in when you're talking Mackay-Steven or Russell. Gunning has two more years on his contract."
