Steve Kean is confident new signing David Goodwillie will provide Blackburn Rovers with a 'different dimension' this season.
Blackburn beat Rangers to the signing of the striker earlier this week when Goodwillie agreed a four-year contract to join from Dundee United for an initial £2million fee.
Kean, whose side finished in 15th spot in the Premier League last season, is thrilled with the capture of the 22-year-old.
"He's an exciting young player and I think it was time for him to move from Scotland, he was Young Player of the Year up there, scoring 18 goals which is something we can certainly do with," Kean told the club's official website.
"He's a player that scores all types of goals, headers, left-foot, right-foot, tap-ins, which are always the best for the strikers to score.
"I think he'll give us a different dimension. He's bubbly, he's a natural finisher and I think he'll be a great addition to the already up and coming young ones."
Goodwillie could make his Rovers debut in Saturday's friendly against Kilmarnock after receiving international clearance.
