David Goodwillie is delighted to have seen his hard work pay off, with interest in his services mounting.
The Dundee United striker was recognised by the Scottish Premier League on Monday as the most promising youngster in the division.
He added the SPL Young Player of the Year award to his PFA prize, with both gongs just reward for his ongoing development.
At 22 years of age he has already made over 120 appearances for the Terrors and has taken his goal return to 16 in the league this season.
Such potential has not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Rangers reported to be weighing up a summer move.
Ups and downs
Dundee United have admitted that they are willing to do business, but have warned potential suitors that Goodwillie will set them back around £2million.
The youngster is keen to avoid becoming bogged down in distracting transfer talk, but admits he is pleased to see his efforts being recognised.
"It makes me proud, and my mum and dad," he told
Sky Sports News.
"I have come from nothing to be that and I couldn't have imagined that when I was younger.
"I think I've had a good season. There have been ups and downs but I've ended it on a high."
