DUNDEE UNITED overcame Second Division giantkillers Alloa 4-0 to book their place in the Fifth Round.

Alloa looked to be holding their own against their Premier League counterparts, but two goals in a minute killed off their hopes.

Antoine Preget gave The Arabs the lead after 38 minutes and striker Jim Hamilton made it two just a minute later.

Substitute Steve Thompson then added a brace with goals on 83 and 89 minutes, the latter being a penalty.

United will now be at home to Aberdeen or Inverness.
