Hearts are taking former Livingston striker Rory Boulding on a week-long trial. The 23-year-old was a hit at the Almondvale Stadium last season, hitting 12 goals in 29 appearances since signing from Accrington Stanley last summer. Ten of those goals came in the final eight matches of the campaign and his fine late season form attracted the interest of a number of rival clubs. The former Mansfield youngster is keen to test himself in the SPL next year and so turned down the offer of a new deal with Livi, paving the way for a summer exit. New Hearts boss John McGlynn, who was appointed manager at Tyncastle last week, has decided to take a closer look Boulding before deciding whether to offer him a permanent deal. The Sheffield-born forward, who has also attracted interest from Kilmarnock, will join up with the Jambos squad for pre-season training this week.
