Falkirk are planning a move to sign Colin Healy on a short-term deal.

Healy is a free agent after leaving Barnsley earlier this month.

The 26-year-old has experience of playing in Scotland after spells with Celtic and Livingston.

Healy is currently training with Falkirk and Bairns boss John Hughes is hopeful of signing the Republic of Ireland international.

"Colin is someone we're definitely interested in," said Hughes.

"He has been unlucky with injuries but he is a good age and still has his best years ahead of him.

"We've given him the opportunity and we'd like to have him until the end of the season and then do something else."
