John Hughes believes Alan Gow should stay with Falkirk and further his career with the SPL outfit.
A number of sides are reportedly sniffing around Gow's services and his stock increased on New Year's Day with a hat-trick against Dundee United.
Hughes believes Gow would be better off staying with Falkirk in the short-term in order to bolster his chances in the long-run of securing a Premiership move.
"There are a few clubs sniffing about Alan but he's better off staying here for another year. If he does that he'll get a regular start and that's the best coaching he'll get," stated Hughes.
"If he stays here and keeps up that sort of form he'll end up in the Premiership and I mean that. He needs to have that belief in himself as well.
"I expect him to get called up to the next B international so Walter Smith can get a look at him. He's certainly got the talent for a full international career.
"I've seen plenty of guys jump ship because they think the grass is greener but it's not always the case."
