Hibernian have extended goalkeeper Mark Oxley’s loan from Hull City until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old joined Hibs on a six-month loan in August, and has made 23 appearances for the club.

Oxley has even found the net himself, scoring the winner in a 2-1 win against Livingston after opposite number Darren Jamieson misjudged a long punt downfield.

“I’m delighted to be here until the end of the season," Oxley told Hibs' official website.

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hibs so far, especially with our recent results. All the hard work is starting to pay off and is showing with our results and I’m happy to be a part of it.

“Coming here to Hibs was a great opportunity to play as many games as possible and hopefully I can carry on doing that and helping the team to win.

“I had a taste last season of playing a long spell of games and that was the plan for me with this loan move, so it has been really beneficial.”

Oxley has only ever made one substitute appearance for Hull, but has also had loan spells with Walsall, Burton, Grimsby and Oldham.

Hibs head coach Alan Stubbs added: "Mark’s loan extension is obviously great news for us and it’s something that we’ve been working on for a long time.

"Mark has been really good for us so far this season and has provided us with a real presence in goal."

Hibs are third in the Scottish Championship table, albeit 19 points behind local rivals and runaway leaders Hearts.
