Hibernian midfielder David Wotherspoon is keen to banish memories of their Scottish Cup defeat to Ross County when they face them in Dingwall on Saturday.

Hibs were beaten 2-1 in a Scottish Cup quarter-final replay by the Stags in 2010 after being held to a draw at Easter Road.

Wotherspoon was part of that side and he is keen to help make amends when they return to Victoria Park, this time in the SPL.

"We know we need to go there and put in a really good performance if we want to take the points," he told the Edinburgh Evening News.

"They're a good side and obviously the distance that you have to travel makes it even more difficult.

"When we went out of the cup to Ross County a couple of years ago I just remember the disappointment that we felt at the end of those two games and it was a horrible feeling not to get through.

"But that was a couple of years ago now and we are in a completely different situation.

"The boys should still take all of that into account and just focus on putting in a really good performance."
