Sky Sports understands Hibernian are in talks with Manchester City over a loan move for defender Ryan McGivern.
A number of clubs are thought to be chasing the Northern Ireland international with McGivern well down the pecking order at City.
McGivern had two spells on loan at Crystal Palace and Bristol City last season and City are ready to send him out on loan again this term.
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is keen to bolster his defensive options before Friday's deadline elapses and he hopes to persuade McGivern to make the move to the SPL.
McGivern, who has made just one substitute's appearance in the Premier League for City, is happy to go out on loan to get some regular action under his belt.
