Stevenage have signed defender David Gray on a free transfer from Preston as the League One club aims to better their form next season.

Boro boss Gary Smith snapped up the 24-year-old Scot, who was with Manchester United as a youngster, after he left Deepdale at the end of last season. Gray is Boro's sixth summer signing after Smith also agreed deals for Greg Tansey, James Dunne, Steven Arnold, Anthony Furlonge and Anthony Grant. Smith told the club website: "The players have a great pedigree. I believe all of them will improve our squad. "There is still plenty of room for additions to the group."
