United to be missing midfielder for up to six weeks

Dundee United have been hit with the news Scott Robertson will miss the start of the season. The Arabs' midfield ace has been told he will be out for up to six weeks after suffering an ankle injury at the weekend. Robertson limped out of a pre-season friendly with Forfar and will miss the first leg of United's Europa League qualifying tie away to Polish side Slask Wroclaw next Thursday. The 26-year-old would also be sidelined for the start of the Arabs' league campaign but with two other key players already injured, manager Peter Houston sees it as a chance for his youngsters to impress.

Swollen

"Scott looks like he's going to be out for four to six weeks," Houston told the Daily record. "His ankle is really swollen. Scott is a fit boy and he works hard so he'll be back soon. "It was unlucky as the Forfar player just collided with him when he was shooting. There's nothing you can do about these kind of injuries. "But it doesn't help when you already have Garry Kenneth and Danny Swanson training with the physio. "However, I have been really pleased with the progress of some of the younger guys."
