Barnsley boss wants to ward off interest in forward

Keith Hill is hoping to keep Danny Haynes at Barnsley next season after the forward was linked with rival Championship clubs. Skysports.com revealed earlier in the week that Blackpool, Burnley and Hull City are monitoring Haynes' situation at Oakwell. Haynes impressed after joining the Tykes from Bristol City in January and he has a further two seasons to run on his contract. Hill is looking to make his mark at Barnsley after replacing Mark Robins as manager and has expressed an interest in Rotherham United striker Adam Le Fondre. However, Hill also wants to keep the bulk of his current squad intact and he does not want to lose Haynes during the transfer window. "I haven't heard anything and he is someone I want to keep at the club," Hill told the club's official website. "As far as I am concerned Danny is going nowhere and no-one has approached us about him."
