Robins boss hopes defender's ankle injury is not serious

Bristol City are sending Liam Fontaine to visit a specialist to discover the severity of the defender's ankle injury. Fontaine picked up the problem in training last week and he was forced to sit out the Robins' 2-0 victory over Derby County last Saturday. Robins boss Keith Millen does not want to take any risks with the 24-year-old's fitness and is waiting to learn how long he will be without Fontaine. "We won't know how bad it is until Liam has seen the specialist," said Millen. "He went over on the ankle in training and we thought we would refer him to a specialist as a precaution. "It's the same ankle he had a problem with last season and we are not going to take any chances with him. "There is no point panicking until we see what the scan throws up. Hopefully, it will reveal nothing too serious and Liam will be back playing sooner rather than later. "We have our busiest spell of the season coming up over Christmas and New Year and we want to have everyone available if possible."
