Dundee United boss Craig Levein has urged Dundee to bid for Scott Robertson rather than doing their talking in the media.

Dundee director Calum Melville recently stated the club wanted to re-sign Robertson and that the midfielder was keen to join.

Levein insists no bid has been tabled for the 24-year-old and that if Dundee want to re-sign him, they need to ring him up.

No offer

"If Melville wants to sign Scott you can tell him to put in an offer for him," said Levein.

"You can give him my number and tell him to call me.

"He'll be sitting in the house with nothing better to do than wondering how can he noise us up."

Rivalry

Melville stoked the rivalry between the neighbours by stating Dundee were the bigger club and have more funds at their disposal.

"Scott is our No.1 target," said Melville. "They need the money and we can pay better wages than them.

"We will be an SPL club again and he wants to play for us. This is not about stirring up things with United."
