Crewe Alexandra have signed Manchester United's young full-back David Gray on a month's loan.
Gray has made just one senior appearance for United - against Crewe in the Carling Cup last season.
He has now headed to Gresty Road to build up his experience after the League One club required cover for George Abbey.
Railwaymen first-team coach Steve Holland is expected to include Gray in his plans for Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, Holland has allowed striker Nick Farquharson to join Blue Square Premier side Northwich Victoria on a month's loan.
