McCann targets Hibs titles

Kevin McCann believes Hibernian can be challenging for the SPL title in years to come.

Kevin McCann believes Hibernian can be challenging for the SPL title in years to come.

The 19-year-old defender signed a new four-year deal at Easter Road on Thursday after impressive recent displays.

With an influx of talent coming through the ranks at Hibs, McCann is confident John Collins' (pictured) side can soon be challenging Rangers and Celtic for SPL supremacy.

Lewis Stevenson, Ross Campbell and Sean Lynch also signed contracts and McCann sees a bright future ahead.

"I want to win things with Hibs and I'm sure everybody at the club does," McCann told the Daily Record.

"We can be up challenging for leagues if we keep our players here. It is not beyond the dream.

"You have to aim to be the best - that's what you are taught here.

"Seeing other boys making progress has been inspirational. I know this is a club where I can progress, improve as a footballer and play matches.

"I've really enjoyed being with the first-team squad an it's nice to know the gaffer believes in me and will play me from time to time.

"Hopefully in years to come I will become a regular starter."
