Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie insists no deal has been struck to sell Scott Brown in the summer.
Rangers, Celtic and West Brom were all linked with January moves for Brown but Hibs were not ready to part with their star midfielder.
Brown withdrew his transfer request on deadline day and told his Easter Road employers that he was willing to see out his contract, which expires in 2009.
He also said he would not be pressured into joining a club he did not want to sign for at the end of the season, fearing that Hibs would look to cash in this summer.
And Petrie has now assured Brown there is no secret agreement in place.
"I can categorically state there is no arrangement with any club regarding Scott Brown, and the player knows that too," Petrie told The Scotsman.
"There were inquiries from a number of clubs early yesterday but we said he was not for sale in this transfer window and we'd not be entering into any agreements for the next one."
