Hibernian boss John Collins is ready to punish Ivan Sproule heavily for his sending off at Rangers.
Sproule faces a four-match ban after breaking the disciplinary points threshold.
Collins admitted he is to impose a heavy fine on Sproule and warned him the suspension could see him struggle to regain his place in the side.
"Four games out is a long time in football and there are some big matches coming up," Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"Ivan is now out of the picture and out of my thoughts for the next four games, but, rest assured, he will be working extremely hard while he is suspended and he will also be heavily fined by the club.
"When I came to the club, I said discipline was the one area we had to work on, it's very important to me and it can also be very costly for players.
"We have others who can come into the team and Ivan will have to work very hard to get back into the side.
"That's the nature of the game, whoever has the jersey will want to keep it and, if someone comes in and does well, they will stay in the team."
