Hibernian star Kevin Thomson is hoping to agree a new deal at the club.
Thomson and team-mate Scott Brown are both looking to win new improved contracts at Easter Road.
A number of clubs north and south of the border are monitoring the duo and could make a move for them if they fail to agree new deals.
Thomson, who scored a superb solo goal in Sunday's draw with Celtic, is hoping his future can be resolved soon.
"Me and Scott have always said we want to stay at this club," said Thomson.
"Everybody knows I'm a big Hibee and how much I love the club. I've made it clear I want to sign a new contract.
"As I've said if Hibs want to sell me then I would have to deal with that.
"At the moment I hope Hibs are happy with me as I'm happy with Hibs.
"I'm 110 percent focused on what I've got to do and giving my best for this club.
"When the manager came in he mentioned new contracts.
"I'm sure the situation will be resolved soon, hopefully the sooner the better as it's becoming a bit of a laugh and a joke in the press.
"I've made it clear I want to sign a new contract at Easter Road. I love playing here and I'm the skipper of the club. Long may it continue."
