Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies has heaped praise on Fraser Wright after handing the defender a new deal.

The 25-year-old had a baptism of firm after arriving at Rugby Park from Stranraer in the summer.

Jefferies felt the defender would fall by the wayside after struggling to adapt to the rise in class, but he has worked tirelessly on his game and his reward is a two-year contract.

"Fraser had a tough time of it when he first came to Kilmarnock because he looked out of his depth and this was affecting his belief," said Jefferies.

"But he knuckled down and showed a great determination to get what we required of a Premier League player."
