Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies is ready to sanction a loan move to St Johnstone for keeper Craig Samson.

Saints are in need of a new keeper, as Allan McGregor is set to head back to parent club Rangers in January, and Samson's profile fits the bill.

Jefferies is also set to loan Paul Di Giacomo to Morton, a move he feels will benefit the player.

"Both players are going out on loan to get the chance to gain some first-team football," said Jefferies.

"It is in our interest that these players are playing regularly and it has all been agreed that they are to join St Johnstone and Morton."
